En el verano de 1973, en una Convención en San Francisco de la compañía discográfica CBS (hoy convertida en Sony Music), se celebró un concierto especial de presentación de los artistas y del sello Philladelphia International: The Three Degrees, Billy Paul, fallecido hace menos de dos años, The O’Jays,  Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes, incluyendo ni más ni menos que a Bernard Wilson, Lawrence Brown, Lloyd Parks & Teddy Pendergrass, y la orquesta base del sonido formada por 35 miembros. Este disco que hemos podido rescatar junto al ciclo periódico del dúo “blanco” de Filladelfia, Hall & Oates, nos sirve para ofrecerte un repertorio literalmente antológico. Por cierto, Roberta Flack cumplió 81 años el sábado pasado, Denis Edwards de The Temptations falleció el 1 de febrero y se van a cumplir 15 de la muerte de Nina Simone. Y The Gramophone All Stars Band están en Madrid este fin de semana.
